The Band:

Randy, Jeff, and Steve had played together for…well, a very long time.  Their musical adventures covered a broad expanse of the landscape - pop, country, blues, folk, all of it well-steeped in traditional American expression.  From their first forays into powerful three-piece blues on Live in Ireland to the front-porch jingle-jangle of Ignorance in Action to their full-circle return to smoky electric muscle on Excessive Sobriety, Pushing Off the Bottom  and The Gospel According to Rabbit, Red Rabbit produced potent grant-and-ask-no-quarter rock and roll.  This isn’t background music:  this is music to live, love, laugh, and weep to.  For more of the band's beginnings, see The Hare's Tale.

Most critics agree the "heyday" for Red Rabbit was from 2016-2019 when it featured Randy Bryant, Molly Herner, Susan Herner, Jeff Purvis, Steve Raymond, and Dennis Sturdevant (and in the later days Dan Rice).    

The post-Molly period toyed with various unsatisfying line-ups...until the Pandemic where everything came to halt.

The post-pandemic lineup featured Randy Bryant, Susan Herner, Jeff Purvis, Frank Puckett, Steve Raymond, and Paige Wyss.   This line-up culminated with the album The Gospel According to Rabbit.  (This album can be downloaded on this website, or is available on your favorite streaming service.)  The Gospel According to Rabbit was recorded and mixed at YouGetWhatYouPayFor Studio.

In August of 2022 there was a final carpet cleaning and everyone moved on from Red Rabbit.

Ignorance In Action and Excessive Sobriety include the talents of other musician friends - Stacy Boyd, Herb Clarkson, Carrie Gieger, Dolores Timmerman, the fabulous Phil Jacoby (R.I.P.), Cami Kincer, Carol Plough, Larry Sauers, John Stoughton, Pat Sullivan, and Jim Timmerman.  Pushing Off the Bottom featured (alphabetically):  Randy Bryant, Molly Herner, Susan Herner, Jeff Purvis, Steve Raymond, and Dennis Sturdevant.    

Ignorance In Action was recorded and mixed by Nathan Manlove at Manlove Studios.  Excessive Sobriety and Pushing Off the Bottom were recorded and mixed at YouGetWhatYouPayFor Studio.
